1) The laser heads being turned down on the lathe to fit the aluminium tube. They are made from a polycarbonate offcut from university.
2) The gas/water connections. They are made from a section of M10 nylon bolt, drilled lengthwise and turned for a push-fit hose connection.
3) The two finished laser head blanks. They look purple but that's due to my rather funny digital camera!
4) The various parts for the rear laser head. Clockwise from top-left: laser head, plasma tube o-ring pressure plate, screws for pressure plate, o-rings (large - water jacket; small - plasma tube).
5) The two o-rings in position.
6) The pressure plate fitted.
7) The plasma tube fitted.
