A piece of sign vinyl is cut out with the laser cutter and used as a sandblast stencil. The glass is blasted just enough to leave a mark, without actually etching into the surface. The mark left is very crisp, although it does dull slightly with handling as oil and grease reduces the reflectivity of the roughened areas.
